Should we contact the deceased's employer to find out if they were entitled to any company benefits?

Yes, the deceased’s work should be contacted to seek information regarding possible:

  • Superannuation or pension benefits;
  • Group life insurance;
  • Holiday pay and/or sick pay;
  • Long service leave;
  • End of employment allowances or gratuities;
  • Unpaid commissions;
  • Disability income;
  • Credit union balance; or
  • Employer arranged sickness or hospital benefits.
